(c) Dividends shall be recognised when the shareholder’s right to receive payment is established.

The shareholders right to receive a payment is established when a dividend has been approved by the members in the paying Company in a meeting prior to the year end. In effect if the dividend has been approved pre year end it would be a payable in the paying company and a receivable in the receiving company at the same time.
In any other instance it is when the dividend is received. The dividend should be recognised as gross before tax.
